Rosa and Demostenes Moreira opened their grocery shop in 1960, but it wasn’t until 1969 during a slump in the grocery market when Rosa Moreira started baking bread. Rosa’s first batch of 4 loaves of bread and 6 cakes sold out in under an hour. Within 2 weeks the tiny shop in El Empalme was renamed ‘Rosita’s Bakers’ and continued to go from strength-to strength over the next years.
I was born watching and learning the recipes of my grandmother Rosa Moreira and I learned how to fight all day for the welfare of my family. I am a public accountant but my passion is the cakes and desserts. After arriving in the USA, my dream was to have my own cake shop.
