About Broadway Sydney
Broadway Shopping Centre is a shopping centre in Sydney, located in the Broadway locality.
The Broadway shopping centre is housed in one of the two historic Grace Bros Broadway buildings, which first opened in 1923 and are currently used for university student housing. In 1997, Walker Corporation took on the renovation of the buildings, which included university student housing and a shopping centre.
The shopping centre first opened in 1998 and was owned and managed by Walker Corporation until December 2006, when it was sold to Mirvac. The original centre was expanded in 2007 with the installation of a second level.
Major renovations to the centre began in 2015, costing $55 million. The renovations, which were finished in August 2016, included a new food court and new fashion retailers.
It features a 500-seat Food Court and Hoyts 12-screen cinema complex along with major retailers Kmart, Coles, Target, Aldi, Dymocks Booksellers, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Harris Farm Markets, Rebel Sport, and over 100 specialty shops.
